OUR EXISTING SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES
We are committed to eco-friendly methods of soil enrichment so that our trees flourish and produce the highest quality fruit. We employ regenerative techniques including, cover cropping & multispecies midrow pastures, to develop a healthy soil by stimulating good microbial culture, as well as reducing our fertiliser and chemical consumption. Permanent netting across 10.8 hectares of our orchard also protects our crops from extreme weather & reduces transpiration.
Our electricity is sourced from renewable energy providers and we ensure that we are proactive in waste recycling and segregation.
Undoubtably, our water efficiency system demonstrates our commitment to the environment. Luckily we live in a high rainfall belt and we utilise every single drop! We use industry leading water monitoring systems with instant alarming capabilities to ensure a very efficient irrigation solution.
Recently we adopted the most sophisticated and advanced tree monitoring system developed in Israel, to measure and monitor instantaneous responses from the tree after irrigation events. It uses the best weather forecasting data to give predications of weather conditions allowing us to irrigate accordingly well in advance of stress events.
